Two free CCleaner alternatives clean up thoroughly and ads free

We introduce you to two freeware and open source options.

Below you find a selection to clean up Windows thoroughly. If you combine several of the tools, you will get better cleaning results.

BleachBit: Open source software against data garbage

An alternative to the CCleaner is BleachBit. The open source tool allows for the deletion of individual or all tracking.

BleachBit is an open-source solution for eliminating data clutter. While it lacks a registry cleaner module, which may be appreciated by skeptics, it effectively clears all or part of your internal hard drive or SSD of residual data. Before beginning optimization, it is recommended to perform a scan. You can access a data shredder through the menu icon at the top left, allowing you to permanently delete files and folders. Additionally, BleachBit enables the compression of program data from Firefox and Google Chrome, potentially speeding up browser startup times.

You can download BleachBit from UpdateStar or from the official website.

A portable version is also available.

AppCleaner for free

This small program cleans your computer to optimize system performance and enhance privacy. It removes obsolete data and files, freeing up disk space and improving overall efficiency. AppCleaner addresses privacy concerns by cleaning up internet browser data, such as browsing histories and cookies.

AppCleaner removes temporary files, history, cookies, internet logs, and more from over 2,000 software programs, surpassing CCleaner in this regard. Its capabilities improve continually, as the manufacturer regularly updates the program with new third-party cleaning definitions. Additionally, it offers features for wiping free space using various deletion methods, as well as tools for uninstalling applications and managing startup programs.
