A maintenance update to version 140.0.1 has been released for the Thunderbird 140 email client (including ESR). This update is being distributed via the software's update function.

Here are the release notes:

• Inserting a link into an HTML email did not work as expected.

• Open issue: Passwords are not saved when using 32-bit MAPI without a message compose window.

Thunderbird 140.0.1 ESR

• The status bar previously displayed detached attachments when hovering over a new attachment.
• URLs for links in the status bar that were hovered over could be immediately overwritten.
• The NNTP message area did not display a network error page when the network connection was lost.
• Inserting a link into an HTML email did not work as expected.
• Automatic configuration no longer handled "No such host" errors correctly.
• Thunderbird could crash on startup for POP3.
