Update to Chrome 124 available
The update fixes 22 security vulnerabilities in Google's browser.
Google has released the new major version Chrome 124 for the users. The developers have closed a number of security gaps and the new browser version is now available for download.
With the new Chrome versions 124.0.6367.60/61 for Windows and macOS and 124.0.6367.60 for Linux from April 16, Google is fixing 22 vulnerabilities in its browser. None of these vulnerabilities have been exploited for attacks so far. Chrome 124 does not offer any new features for users. Manufacturers of other Chromium-based browsers have not yet followed suit, but will follow suit in the near future.
The Chrome Release Blog lists the 13 of the 22 security vulnerabilities that were discovered by external security researchers and reported to Google.
Google rates three of these vulnerabilities as high risk. A further six security vulnerabilities are identified as medium risk. Two vulnerabilities could be used to inject and execute code.
