Microsoft has released PowerToys 0.100.0, a milestone update for its popular free utility suite for Windows 10 and 11. The release brings a redesigned Shortcut Guide, a migration to .NET 10, per-monitor dock support, and a wide range of improvements across individual tools.
Redesigned Shortcut Guide
The Shortcut Guide has been overhauled and now displays keyboard shortcut options along the edge of the screen rather than as a centered overlay, making it less intrusive while keeping shortcuts visible.
Command Palette Gets Extension Support
The Command Palette now supports third-party extensions. Developers can build and distribute their own extensions via the Microsoft Store or WinGet, enabling users to extend the palette with custom commands and workflows.
Per-Monitor Dock
Users with multi-monitor setups can now assign a separate dock to each display. The improved "Pin to Dock" feature also lets users specify exactly where a pinned command should appear, giving more control over how tools are arranged across different screens.
Under the Hood: .NET 10 and Smaller Installer
The entire PowerToys suite has been migrated from .NET 9 to .NET 10. As a side effect, the installer size has been reduced by 15%, and automatic updates are now more reliable.
