Brave Browser 1.94 Adds Email Aliases to Keep Your Real Inbox Off Signup Forms
To use the feature, you'll need to set up a Brave Account, verifying a primary email and password.
Brave has rolled out version 1.94, and the headline feature is Email Aliases, a built-in way to generate disposable, forwarding email addresses right from a signup form so your real inbox never touches the website you're signing up for.
What's New in Brave 1.94
- Email Aliases: Generate a privacy-protecting alias address directly from any email field via autofill or the right-click menu. Messages sent to the alias are forwarded to your real, primary email, which stays hidden from the site.
- Five free aliases included with a new Brave Account (separate from Brave Premium), with a paid tier and mobile support planned for later.
- Breaks cross-site tracking: because each site gets a different alias, companies can no longer match your identity across services using a shared email address.
- Spam control: deactivate a compromised or spammy alias and generate a new one anytime — no need to change your real address.
- Privacy-first handling: primary addresses and aliases are stored encrypted at rest, forwarded messages are scanned for spam/malware, and Brave says mail is deleted from its servers within seconds of delivery. Notes attached to aliases stay local or are end-to-end encrypted if synced via Brave Sync.
- Management: all aliases can be viewed, renamed, and deleted from Brave's settings.
To use the feature, you'll need to set up a Brave Account (distinct from a Brave Premium subscription), verifying a primary email and password - the usual account signup flow.
