Microsoft Edge version 143 (143.0.3650.66) was released as scheduled. This update patches a total of 14 security vulnerabilities: 13 from the Chromium environment and one Microsoft-specific vulnerability (CVE-2025-62223).

Microsoft Edge has a new bouncer at the door - and it’s guarding your local network.

In Edge version 143 and up, any website that tries to poke around your home turf (a.k.a. your local network) now gets stopped with a pop-up asking whether it should be let in or sent packing. It’s like giving websites a hall pass… or revoking it on the spot. IT admins, of course, get their own master keys and can set company-wide rules for who’s allowed where.

Meanwhile, under the hood, Edge is changing up its graphics crew.

If you're running Windows without a real GPU - think virtual machines, headless rigs, or that old office PC that cries when you open too many tabs - Edge now leans on WARP, Microsoft’s software-based graphics engine, to keep WebGL humming. Older builds used SwiftShader, but that’s been retired to the great code archive in the sky.

On macOS and Linux, though? No GPU, no WebGL. Edge expects actual graphics hardware to show up for work.

Feature Updates

• Users can now undo or redo annotation actions such as highlighting or freehand drawing in the new PDF viewer on Windows.

• Microsoft Edge detects and revokes malicious, sideloaded extensions. Note: This is a controlled feature release.

• Organizations that cannot use the "Send feedback" option in Microsoft Edge can now use a new export function. By pressing Alt + Shift + I, users can open the feedback dialog box and select "Diagnostic data."

• The mini-menu is triggered on websites and in PDF files when text is selected and offers basic actions such as copy and smart actions such as definitions. This feature has been removed from Mac devices starting with Microsoft Edge version 143.

• Tab search helps users stay organized by allowing them to quickly find and reopen recently closed tabs or browse all open tabs in a single view. From the same menu, they can also enable vertical tabs, access the AI-powered "Organize Tabs" feature, and open workspaces.
