Chrome 106.0.5249.91 update available
The first security update for Chrome 106 fixes three security vulnerabilities.
Google has released a first security update for Chrome 106. In it, the developers have closed three more security vulnerabilities.
Just three days after Chrome version 106 was released, Google's browser has already received its first security update. With Chrome 106.0.5249.91 for Windows, macOS and Linux from September 30, the Google developers eliminate three vulnerabilities in the browser.
The Chrome Release Blog lists two of the three fixed vulnerabilities that external researchers discovered and reported to Google almost two weeks ago. Google classifies both vulnerabilities as high risk. It is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Custom Elements browser component and a buffer overflow in the Javascript engine V8. As always, Google has not published any information about the internally found vulnerability.
Installing the new update is strongly recommended for Chrome users. Chrome updates are available through the built-in update functionality. They are usually downloaded and installed automatically. If you do not want to wait, you can also initiate the update manually under Help ยป About Google Chrome.
