By popular request, full-page translations are now available within Firefox, beginning with the URL scheme moz-extension://. The image shows a screenshot of a Firefox Relay extension page translated from English to German.

The option for custom background images (and colors) for the new tab page is now available! You can upload your own image as the background image for the new tab or choose any custom color - from the lightest pink to the darkest gray. This feature is being rolled out gradually to new users and can also be enabled immediately via Firefox Labs in the Settings. New wallpaper images and a new sky category have also been added.

Link Previews is currently available as an experimental feature that can be enabled via Firefox Labs in the Firefox Settings. Once enabled, use Alt+Shift when hovering over a link to see the preview in action.

Changes and Fixes

  • Due to recent changes to how Chrome encrypts user data on Windows, the Firefox Migration Assistant can no longer import payment methods or passwords directly from Chrome. However, users can still export passwords from Chrome to a CSV file and then import them into Firefox using the Migration Assistant or the Password Manager.

  • PNG images with transparency now retain their transparency when pasted into Firefox.

  • HTTP/3 upload performance has been significantly improved, especially on resumed connections (QUIC 0-RTT) and on high-bandwidth, high-latency connections.

  • Other improvements and fixes for HTML 5 and for developers.
