The first security update for Chrome 120 fixes nine vulnerabilities.
David FischerGoogle has released the first security update for Chrome 120. The developers have fixed nine security vulnerabilities.
With the new Chrome version 120.0.6099.109 for Windows, macOS and Linux from December 12, Google is eliminating nine vulnerabilities in its browser. A 0-day gap is not included. Just last week, Google released the new major version Chrome 120.
The Chrome Release Blog lists six of the nine vulnerabilities in Chrome that external security researchers discovered and reported to Google. Google classifies five vulnerabilities as high risk. These are mostly use-after-free gaps in various components. There is also a type mix-up in the Javascript engine V8. As always, Google is keeping a low profile about the gaps discovered internally. There could well be dangerous security gaps.
