Firefox 86.0.1 update available
The update fixes a number of errors in the previous version.
David FischerMozilla has released an update for Firefox 86 with Firefox 86.0.1. As is usually the case with Firefox, this minor update of a recently released new major version is a bugfix release. Firefox 86.0.1 does not include new functionality, but fixes minor errors in its predecessor.
The update fixes a problem on Windows computers that could cause the window focus to be incorrect, if the user opens the browser window via Java Script. The developers also fixed an issue that could cause date fields to be cut off easily.
Users who use tab group extensions may have to expect data loss. The developers solved this problem by correcting the corresponding web extension interface for tabs.
If you use Firefox on a Mac, you may have encountered the problem with Firefox 86.0 that Firefox stopped responding after the system was in sleep mode. In particular, owners of a new MacBook with Apple's own M1 chip are said to have been affected by this problem. That should be a thing of the past with Firefox 86.0.1.

If you have already installed Firefox, it is best to use the update function integrated in Firefox. This will automatically provide you with the update Firefox 86.0 as soon as it is available for your Firefox.
