Security vulnerability fixed with Foxit Reader 10.1.3 update

The update is now available for free and users should update fast.

The Foxit Reader is particularly popular because of its wide range of functionality. The new update to version 10.1.3 fixes a security vulnerability and users should implement the update quickly.

The Foxit Reader and Foxit Phantom PDF Suite are affected by a vulnerability and have therefore now received an important security update. The weakness that gets fixed with the current update can lead to uncontrolled crashes of the software, some of which could be caused externally.

Compared to Adobe's quasi-standard Acrobat Reader, Foxit Reader is not only significantly lighter, but also offers many more functions.

With the update to version 10.1.3, the developer fixes an uncovered security gap. As you can read in the manufacturer's comments, attackers could crash the software and potentially could import external code.

Users who have installed Foxit Reader should already receive version 10.1.3 via the built-in update functionality. If this is not the case, you can update the PDF reader manually. Update your Foxit applications to the latest versions via the Help tab of Foxit Reader or Foxit PhantomPDF, click on Check for Updates and update to the latest version.
