BandiView 8.03 Stops a Zoom Crash and Fixes Dark Mode in the Converter

A small but welcome stability patch for one of the speediest free image viewers on Windows.

Zoom into a huge photo, and suddenly your viewer vanishes. It's the kind of small disaster that makes you doubt a program you otherwise love. BandiView 8.03 targets exactly that.

What changed

The headline fix is a crash that could happen when zooming in on some large images, so panoramas and high-resolution scans should now behave. Another visual glitch is gone too: with the window border hidden, image edges were being clipped, and they now display in full. Dark-mode fans get a correction as well, because the image converter now respects the dark theme when you launch it from File Explorer instead of flashing a bright window at you.

Beyond those, the developer mentions general stability work and a handful of unspecified smaller modifications, so there is no big feature list to dig through this time.

Our verdict

This is a maintenance release, and a good one to take if you view big images or run BandiView in dark mode. If you never zoom deep into large files and your setup works, nothing here will change your day, but the upgrade is painless and removes a nasty crash path.
