As Microsoft announced on its website, an update for the Edge browser has been released. The Microsoft Edge Stable Channel (Version 109.0.1518.78) provides the latest security update. Microsoft does not provide further details about the update or the threat it is intended to fix.
This update addresses the vulnerability CVE-2023-21720.
Microsoft Edge update: Users should update as soon as possible
In the Edge browser settings, every user can set whether they want updates to be installed automatically or not. Automatic updating is preinstalled by default. When opening the browser, Edge queries for any updates and then installs them.
Users who have disabled this feature should install the latest update manually. Microsoft rates the security threat as moderate.
