Google has released a new major version Chrome 91. The new version fixes a total of 32 security vulnerabilities. Google provides the new browser version 91.0.4472.77 for Windows, macOS and Linux.

The Chrome Release Blog lists 32 fixed vulnerabilities. Eight of these are classified as high risk, eight are classified as medium risk and five are classified as low risk. The vulnerabilities identified as high risk are Use after free gaps in various browser components, for example a buffer overflow in Autofill.

For web developers, Chrome 91 also offers some new features and improvements. This affects, for example, WebXR, File System Access API, WebOTP API and WebAssembly SIMD. Users may notice that form elements on Android devices are now similar to their already modernized counterparts on other platforms. They also enable adaptation to dark mode. The refresh of the form elements was created in cooperation with Microsoft.
