Vivaldi 7.0 available

Vivaldi gets modern design and new features with this update.

Vivaldi Technologies has released an update for its web browser Vivaldi, which users can expect with a cleaner design. The concept of a header bar with tabs and a sidebar for additional functions has not changed. However, symbols and proportions have been revised, resulting in a slimmer, more modern appearance. Tabs are also displayed in an elliptical shape and stand out more clearly from the background. In addition to the cosmetic fine-tuning, the new version also contains some functional innovations.

The update introduces floating tabs, delivering a clean and spacious look that feels both intuitive and modern. Enhanced icons bring added depth and sophistication, aligning with the refreshed UI’s contemporary tone. This update provides a visually captivating and seamless experience, designed to improve workflow without compromising on style. Vivaldi’s vast array of personalization options empowers users to tailor both themes and features to their preferences, crafting an experience that aligns with their unique needs. Whether users gravitate towards minimalist elegance or a more dynamic aesthetic, the new UI embodies Vivaldi’s core mission: adaptability to individual preferences.

Dashboard as an information center

As the company announced on its blog, the browser now has a dashboard on which users can set up and access various web services. According to the announcement, every website can be displayed as a widget here. The feature consists of individual tiles that contain organizational tools such as a calendar, a to-do list or email retrieval. By linking to social media such as Instagram, feeds can also be displayed directly in the browser. The dashboard is designed as a new start page that can be displayed when the program starts if desired.

Notable feature enhancements

Feed-Reader Updates: The Feed-Reader now supports separate feed folders, allowing users to organize content more effectively. Paired with the new Dashboard, Vivaldi's Feeds are now more user-centric than ever, giving full control to the user rather than relying on Big Tech’s algorithms.

Jump to Latest Mail: A new addition to Vivaldi Mail allows users to quickly jump to the latest email with a single click—an essential feature for managing high-volume inboxes efficiently.

Instant Sync: Real-time sync of tabs, bookmarks, and settings across desktop devices ensures a seamless browsing experience, keeping everything in sync for smooth transitions between devices.
