Updates Foxit PDF Reader 12.1.2 and Foxit PDF Editor 12.1.2 available

Foxit PDF Reader or PDF Editor on Windows are vulnerable and should be updated.

Foxit's PDF reader and editor applications are vulnerable. In the new versions, the developers fixed several security vulnerabilities that attackers could use to push malicious code onto computers.

Malicious code attacks possible

As per the security bulletin on the Foxit website, only Windows is at risk of these vulnerabilities. The majority of vulnerabilities are classified with the threat level high.

Errors may occur when processing JavaScript or XLS files. Attackers could use this as a loophole for malicious code. In addition, attackers could hijack the Registered Service's exe file and thus gain system rights. The developers have fixed PDF Reader Version 12.1.2 and PDF Editor 12.1.2 against such attacks.
