Google has released another security update for its Chrome browser. The new Chrome versions 135.0.7049.95/96 for Windows and macOS, and 135.0.7049.95 for Linux, are available. Installing the update closes two security vulnerabilities in the browser. According to Google, these vulnerabilities have not been exploited for attacks so far. The makers of other Chromium-based browsers will follow suit in the coming days.
The Chrome Release Blog lists the two fixed security vulnerabilities discovered by external security researchers and reported to Google. Google classifies one of these vulnerabilities (CVE-2025-3619) as critical. It is a buffer overflow in the Codecs component, which was reported to Google a week ago. The second vulnerability (CVE-2025-3620) is classified as high risk. It is a use-after-free vulnerability in the USB component.
Chrome usually updates automatically when a new version is available. You can manually initiate the update check by selecting "Help" from the menu. Google has also released Chrome for Android 135.0.7049.100. The Android version fixes the same vulnerabilities as the desktop versions. Google plans to release Chrome 136 at the end of April.
