Google Chrome 98.0.4758.80/81/82 available

Google Chrome vulnerable to malicious code attacks.

A new security update is available Google Chrome, because old versions are vulnerable to malicious code attacks. The Chrome web browser update has been released in versions for Linux, macOS and Windows. If you surf the Internet with Chrome, you should make sure that the current version is installed.

According to the Chrome Release Blog, the developers have fixed 27 security vulnerabilities. Some of these vulnerabilities have been assigned a high threat level.

As usual, Google hardly reveals any details about the closed vulnerabilities. Potential attackers receive little information, so users can install versions of the web browser that are protected against attacks.

DoS or malicious code attacks

In almost all cases, it reads that attackers could trigger memory errors (use after free, heap buffer overflow) in various components of the browser. They can use this to access certain memory areas without authorization and usually inject malicious code there.

Easily share links with others or with yourself

With the new share menu you can share a link, create a QR code or send a link to your own smartphone. Just click the share icon in the address bar. You have several options for sharing the link with others or yourself.

Google claims to have released versions 98.0.4758.80/81/82 for Windows and 98.0.4758.80 for Linux and macOS Chrome. On Windows, for example, you can check the installed output by clicking on the three vertical dots in the top right and then on Help, About Google Chrome. This also triggers the update process, which actually runs automatically.
