A security vulnerability described as critical affects the Android version of Firefox. A specially prepared website can infiltrate the browser using cross-site scripting. For desktop users, the Firefox update fixes a high security vulnerability in Web Render.
The new Firefox 88.0.1 also fixes video problems that some users with Intel graphics have on Twitter and that occur when playing copy-protected videos. Another bug has been fixed in the display of settings when users are using the high contrast display.
