Firefox 128 available for download

The update fixes vulnerabilities and improves translation function

Get ready for a smoother and safer browsing experience with the new Firefox version 128! This update brings enhanced security and sets the stage for the next Extended Support Release (ESR) edition.

Mozilla's developers have fixed numerous security gaps, improved the translation function, and revamped the dialog for deleting browsing data. As per tradition, July marks the start of a multi-month transition phase with two ESR versions running simultaneously.

In the latest security report, Mozilla highlights at least 16 fixed security vulnerabilities, with four classified as "high risk". The CVE-2024-6605 vulnerability only impacts Firefox for Android, and thankfully, none of these have been exploited for attacks.

To stay secure, simply go to » Help » About Firefox to manually check for updates and download the latest version. Upgrade now and enjoy a safer, more efficient browsing experience with Firefox 128!

What's New in Firefox 128

Get ready to explore the new features of Firefox 128!

  • Text Translation Magic: Now, you can translate highlighted text without a cloud service! Just right-click on any text, even in PDF files, and voilà - translation made easy.

  • Streamlined Data Deletion: The new dialog for clearing browsing data shows only four categories but includes the space used by stored data. Cleaning up has never been this efficient!

  • Private Streaming Bliss: Enjoy DRM-protected content like Netflix in private windows. Stream your favorites while keeping things private.

  • Privacy-First Advertising: The new Privacy Preserving Attribution API, still in experimental mode, aims to measure ad success without tracking you. It’s an alternative to cross-site tracking, keeping your privacy intact. Not a fan? Simply uncheck Advertising settings for websites and keep your browsing free from ad tracking.

Happy browsing!
