Brave 1.52.117 and Edge 114.0.1823.37 updates available

These are security updates for Chromium-based browsers following the release of Chrome 114.

After Google released Chrome 114, manufacturers of other Chromium-based browsers followed suit to fix the eliminated vulnerabilities as well.

At the end of May Google released Chrome 114.0.5735.90/91 eliminating 16 vulnerabilities. Now Brave and Microsoft (Edge) have also released updates to close the vulnerabilities in their Chromium-based browsers as well.

Brave was the quickest to respond and updated its browser. The new version Brave 1.52.117 contains Chromium 114.0.5735.90. The team also revised some functions and eliminated a few bugs. The subsequent update to Brave 1.52.119 only affects Windows users using Brave VPN.

Microsoft released an update to Edge 114.0.1823.37 based on Chromium 114.0.5735.91. Microsoft additionally fixed some bugs.

Vivaldi so far has only switched to Chrome 114 in the snapshot test versions. Vivaldi 6.1 will be released soon. Vivaldi 6.0.2979.22 still has Chromium 112.0.5615.205.

Opera is also still behind. The latest Opera version 99.0.4788.47 from June 2nd is based on Chromium 113.0.5672.127. Chromium 114-based Opera 100 has just entered the beta testing stage. Opera One, a completely new version with a modular interface, is due to be released later this year.
