Adobe January 2025 Patch Day

Adobe fixes critical vulnerabilities in Photoshop, Animate & others.

Adobe's update package in January fixes 14 critical security vulnerabilities, for example in Photoshop and Animate.

The manufacturer has distributed 14 eliminated security vulnerabilities across five security bulletins. Animate, Illustrator on iPad, Photoshop, Substance 3D Designer and Substance 3D Stager are affected. All vulnerabilities are classified as critical. Attacks that exploit one of the vulnerabilities are not known to date. Adobe therefore assigns the lowest urgency level of 3 for all updates. The information always applies to Windows and macOS or all platforms. Only Illustrator is the version for the iPad.

Adobe has closed four security vulnerabilities classified as critical in Substance 3D Designer up to 14.0 and five in Substance 3D Stager up to 3.0.4. All vulnerabilities allow a potential attacker to execute arbitrary code.

The Illustrator version for the iPad appears for the first time on a patch day. With the update to version 3.0.8 of the app, Adobe has eliminated two vulnerabilities that could be exploited to execute arbitrary code.

Adobe's flagship Photoshop 2025 and 2024 have two security vulnerabilities that have been identified as critical, which Adobe has eliminated through updates. The last vulnerability affects Animate 2024 and 2023 and is also potentially capable of executing arbitrary code.

The latest Adobe Security Bulletins can be found on the manufacturer's website.
