Vivaldi 8.0 brings improvements

Vivaldi released version 8.0 of its Vivaldi browser. With this version, the team unifies the individual layers; consequently, tabs, toolbars, panels, and content are displayed on a single, continuous surface.

Now the browser feels more unified

Vivaldi 8.0 is here with a fresh new look that ties the whole browser together. The big visual change is the new Unified frame, which turns the browser's toolbars, panels, tabs, and edges into one continuous surface instead of a stack of separate UI layers. Themes now flow across the entire window, making dark themes darker, warm themes warmer, and wallpapers feel like part of the browsing environment rather than just background decoration.

The update also makes getting started easier. Vivaldi now offers six preset layouts during onboarding, including Simple, Classic, Vertical Left, Vertical Right, Auto Hide, and Bottom. Whether you want a clean browser, tabs on the side, navigation at the bottom, or an interface that disappears when you are focused on the web, there is now a ready-made starting point.

Of course, this is still Vivaldi, so preset does not mean locked in. Users can tweak, rearrange, hide, stack, tile, and customize almost everything. Add in updated default themes like Zen, Soria Moria, Sunset Forest, and Kawaii Clouds, plus thousands more from Vivaldi's theme gallery, and version 8.0 feels less like a redesign and more like a new playground for browser personalization.
