Mozilla has released versions 145.0 and 140.5.0 ESR of Thunderbird. Both versions include security fixes. For Linux, as with Firefox, there is a change: version 145 no longer distributes 32-bit Linux x86 binaries.

Thunderbird 145 includes several other new features:

• Support for Microsoft Exchange via Exchange Web Services has been enabled.
• Support for DNS over HTTPS has been enabled.
• An option for manually configuring emails in the Account Hub has been added.
• Manual configuration for EWS account creation has been added.

Changes

• Skype has been discontinued and therefore removed from the instant messaging options in the address book.

• The setting default_supports_diskspace.{HOST} has been removed.

• The setting default_offline_support_level.{HOST} has been removed.

• The term "Junk" has been replaced with "Spam".

Fixes

• When saving all attachments with identical names, existing files were overwritten without warning.

• Message headers were downloaded again on every startup.

• ICS files could not be dragged and dropped into the "Today" section.

• The Spam button in the unified toolbar did not change to "Not Spam" when a spam message was selected.

• The message composition window could incorrectly disappear from the taskbar on Windows.

• Several fixes were made for the Account Hub.

• Deleted account data remained in the "Export to mobile device" menu.

• Spam was not checked when the mail.server.default.check_all_folders_for_new option was enabled.

• Upgrading from 128.x to 140.x broke authentication for @att.net with the Yahoo backend.

• Task reminders could fail for tasks without an end date or with staggered due dates.

Changes in Thunderbird 140.5.0 ESR:

• An ICS file could not be dragged and dropped into the Today View.

• When Thunderbird was closed, clicking a "mailto:" link to send a signed message failed.

• The upgrade from 128.x to 140.x has broken authentication for @att.net using the Yahoo backend.
