Microsoft's PowerToys utility suite has been updated to version 0.101, and the headline addition is Window Hopper, a new module built for anyone who regularly has several windows open from the same application, like a browser, terminal, File Explorer, or editor.
What's New
- Window Hopper: Works like Alt+Tab, but stays scoped to the app you're currently using. Press the configurable Alt + backtick shortcut to cycle only through that app's open windows, instead of stepping through your entire desktop.
- Redesigned update experience: A new channel selector under Settings > General > Update channel lets you choose between Stable (default) and Insider (PowerToys Preview builds with features ahead of general release).
- Advanced Paste gets on-device AI: Adds an on-device Phi Silica provider for local transformations without sending data to the cloud.
- Continued WinUI 3 modernization: Quick Accent and Mouse Jump have been migrated to WinUI 3, alongside improvements to PowerDisplay and Shortcut Guide.
- Known rollout hiccup: Microsoft has noted an issue with the update rollout mechanism itself, so this release may take longer than usual to reach everyone via auto-update.
