Notepad++ 8.9.2 is now available for download. Users should install the update as soon as possible. Even though the earlier hack has been patched, this version offers further security improvements, including the use of a signed MXL file (XMLDSig).
This version of Notpad++ also includes a patch for a vulnerability. This concerns CVE-2026-25926, a vulnerability in the untrusted search path caused by launching the explorer.exe file.
