Mp3tag 3.32 has been released

This new final version includes many new features.

Mp3tag has now received version 3.32. The new versiojn Mp3tag 3.32 offers smarter sources, smoother tagging, and broader format support.

This release focuses on the things you do every day: pulling better data from your favorite sources, keeping your workspace exactly how you like it, and shaving clicks off common tasks. Here’s what’s new and why it matters.

Richer metadata from Discogs & MusicBrainz

  • Discogs, now with true composer awareness. Mp3tag can now import COMPOSER from additional artist roles on indexed tracks — including Composed-By, MIXARTIST, Music-By, Songwriter, and Written-By — and you can use these roles for subtitles, too. That means cleaner credits with less manual cleanup.

  • MusicBrainz gets deeper, too. The MusicBrainz tag source now imports COMPILATION, MUSICBRAINZ_ALBUMTYPE, and ORIGYEAR, making it easier to distinguish album types and track original release years at a glance.

Faster everyday editing

  • Freeze your search results layout. There’s a new option to disable automatic column resizing in the search window’s results list, so your carefully tuned column widths stay put.

  • Select more in one move. Need to grab related files quickly? Use Edit ▸ Select Similar Files (or Ctrl+G) to expand your selection in a snap.

  • Smarter typing in Extended Tags. Mp3tag now auto-completes custom values while you edit extended tags, cutting down on typos and repetitive input.

Better visibility and broader format support

  • MP4 creation & modification dates. New fields — mp4_creation_time, mp4_creation_time_raw, mp4_modification_time, and mp4_modification_time_raw — expose timestamps from the MP4 mvhd header, so you can see and use when a file was created or last changed.

  • Stereoscopic Matroska (MK3D). Mp3tag now recognizes Matroska 3D video files (*.mk3d), and support extends to the Explorer context menu shell extension, keeping your right‑click workflow intact.

Alongside these highlights, Mp3tag 3.32 includes many under‑the‑hood improvements and fixes that keep everything running smoothly.
