Microsoft released version 142 (142.0.3595.53) of the Microsoft Edge browser. A security update that had previously been omitted was incorporated into this update, resulting in the correction of 21 security vulnerabilities. One of these, CVE-2025-60711, is a Microsoft-specific vulnerability.

There is an issue with the Auto-Open feature. User settings were not fully applied, and some settings were not implemented as intended. To resolve this, the changes will be gradually rolled back over the next month to ensure all user settings are correctly applied. The feature can also be manually disabled. More information can be found in the release notes. Another issue has been fixed. This should restore the functionality of thePrint to PDF and Screenshot features in Headless Mode.

• ScarewareBlockerBlocksDetectedSitesEnabled – Configures Edge to block detected fraudulent sites.

• ScarewareBlockerSendDetectedSitesToSmartScreenEnabled – Allows the scareware blocker to send detected fraudulent site URLs to Microsoft Defender SmartScreen.
