The update continues the rollout of version 5.6's modernised interface while squashing a few bugs that affected scans and exclusion management.

Malwarebytes has released version 5.6.1.257 of its popular anti-malware scanner, continuing the rollout of version 5.6's modernised interface while squashing a few bugs that affected scans and exclusion management.

What's New

The 5.6.x series introduced a completely refreshed UI aimed at being faster and more responsive, and 5.6.1.257 continues refining that experience:

  • Deep Scan results modal fix A bug that prevented the scan results dialog from appearing when a large number of threats were detected during a Deep Scan has been resolved.
  • Simplified Allow List management Adding files and folders to the Allow List (exclusions) is now more straightforward, reducing accidental blocks on trusted software.
  • My Subscription page clarification The sign-in section now includes clearer guidance explaining that users can activate their subscription by signing into their Malwarebytes account.

The update applies to both the free and Premium tiers and downloads automatically if you have auto-updates enabled.
