Malwarebytes 5.6.5.306 Available With Bug Fixes and Smoother Scam Guard Experience

The release doesn't bring flashy new features, but it squashes a handful of annoyances that were affecting real-world users, including an app-crashing bug and issues with the Scam Guard and quarantine tools.

Malwarebytes has pushed out version 5.6.5.306, a maintenance update to its all-in-one antivirus and anti-malware suite. The release doesn't bring flashy new features, but it squashes a handful of annoyances that were affecting real-world users, including an app-crashing bug and issues with the Scam Guard and quarantine tools.

What's New in Malwarebytes 5.6.5.306

Issues fixed:

  • Fixed an issue causing Malwarebytes to repeatedly open and close.
  • Improved messaging in the modal for deleting quarantined items.
  • Fixed an error preventing the "Report" button from showing in Scam Guard.
  • Miscellaneous bug fixes.

Malwarebytes 5.6.5.306 continues to ship as a full antivirus replacement rather than a simple on-demand scanner. It bundles real-time anti-malware, anti-exploit, anti-ransomware, and website protection modules that used to be sold separately. The company says recent versions in the 5.x line scan up to four times faster than older releases, and the app is designed to run alongside other security software as an extra layer of protection.
