The Document Foundation has released LibreOffice 26.2.4, a maintenance update for the 26.2 branch of the popular free office suite. The update ships 48 bug fixes gathered across two release candidates and is available now for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
What's fixed
The 48 corrections address a range of issues across Writer, Calc, and Impress. Two notable fixes stand out: a performance problem that caused ODS spreadsheet files to open slowly, and an out-of-memory crash in the WMF image renderer. The full list of changes is documented in the RC1 and RC2 changelogs on the Document Foundation wiki.
Important: LibreOffice 25.8 reaches end of life on June 12
If you are still running LibreOffice 25.8, now is the time to upgrade. The Document Foundation has announced that support for the 25.8 branch ends on June 12, 2026 — less than a week away. After that date, the 25.8 branch will no longer receive security patches. Switching to LibreOffice 26.2 is strongly recommended to stay protected.
