IrfanView is a versatile software application that allows users to view, edit, and convert images quickly and efficiently. IrfanView has long been more than just an image viewer. Over the years, it has steadily grown into a free and capable tool for editing individual images. The first update of 2026 has now been released, bringing a range of enhancements.
IrfanView 4.75 release highlights
- Many new transition effects for Fullscreen/Slideshow mode under Properties → Fullscreen
- A new Slideshow dialog feature for setting custom text for input files
- A new Blend effect in the Effects Browser dialog
- A new Paint dialog option to draw rectangles with rounded corners
- Support for drawing with the right mouse button in the Paint dialog for lines, arrows, rectangles, and ellipses
- Right-click copy/paste support for color controls in dialogs
- A new Edit Palette option to select and edit multiple colors using CTRL
- An option to prevent unused keys from exiting Fullscreen/Slideshow mode under Properties → Miscellaneous
- New keyboard shortcuts: number keys 1–9 scroll the image to the edges, with 5 centering it
- Support for EXIF data in PNG files, including the EXIF dialog and “eXIf” block
- Updates and modifications to several plugins
