Internet Download Manager 6.43.1 Now Grabs MP4 Files Directly
This update is a maintenance build.
Internet Download Manager (IDM) has received a new update. While it's a focused maintenance build, it plugs a real gap that many users have been running into on modern streaming sites.
What's New in IDM 6.43.1
The headline fix in this release is improved video capture from sites that serve content through adaptive HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) pipelines. Previously, IDM would only see and offer to download the raw .ts (MPEG transport stream) segments, the internal chunks that make up a video, rather than the assembled, ready-to-play MP4 file.
IDM 6.43.1 changes that: the download manager can now detect and grab the final MP4 file from sites where only TS video was previously available. For everyday users, this means cleaner downloads, no extra conversion step, and files that play immediately in any media player.
HLS streaming has become the default delivery method on a huge number of websites, from news portals to educational platforms to content archives. The TS-only limitation in earlier versions was a persistent annoyance, often requiring users to stitch segments manually or reach for a separate tool. This update makes IDM whole again for those sites.
