FluentCleaner, the free and open-source Windows 11 cleaning tool positioned as a modern, transparent alternative to CCleaner, has been updated to version 26.07.04.

The standout addition in this release is Rule Lab, a new feature that lets you look under the hood of any cleaning rule before you run it. Instead of trusting a black-box "clean now" button, you can inspect exactly which files, folders, or registry entries a given rule targets and how much space it stands to free up. This continues FluentCleaner's core philosophy: nothing gets deleted without you seeing what's on the chopping block first.
That transparency is baked into the app's foundation. FluentCleaner draws on the community-maintained winapp2.ini database (the same rules repository longtime CCleaner users will recognize) to identify safe-to-remove temporary files, caches, and leftover clutter from Windows and installed third-party software.
Why It Matters
FluentCleaner has been gaining a following among users who moved away from CCleaner over trust and bloat concerns. It's built with WinUI 3, requires no installation, and runs as a lightweight, resource-efficient portable tool. The new Rule Lab feature pushes that trust-first approach further by giving more technical users a way to audit cleaning rules instead of just taking them on faith.
