Three new versions of Firefox have been completed. These are Firefox 144.0, the monthly release, and the two ESR versions 140.4.0 and 115.29.0. All three versions include security fixes. Firefox 144 also includes new features and fixes.

New features in Firefox 144

• Your active tab card now remains visible, so everything stays organized even when the group is hidden.

• Update to tab groups, addressing one of our community's most frequently requested features! You can now drag a tab into a collapsed group without it automatically expanding. This lets you quickly organize and minimize visual distractions.

• Profile Management, now available to all users worldwide, helps you protect your privacy and stay focused by dividing your online life into different profiles - for work, school, vacation planning, or whatever you like. You can now name your profiles and customize them with avatars and color schemes for easier recognition, then quickly switch between them - all while keeping bookmarks, tabs, and browsing history completely separate.

• Close a picture-in-picture window without pausing the video. Hold down the Shift key and click the Close button, or use the keyboard shortcut "Shift + Esc" to close the window without interrupting playback.

• Login credentials stored in Firefox Password Manager are now encrypted on disk using a modern encryption method (AES-256-CBC), replacing the older 3DES-CBC. This change improves local data protection. Login credentials synchronized via Firefox Sync remain end-to-end encrypted and already use AES-256-GCM.

• Visual search with Google Lens. With a simple right-click on any image, you can now: Find similar products, places, or objects Copy, translate, or search text from images. This is a desktop-only feature that can be used worldwide. To use it, you must have Google set as your default search engine.

• Perplexity AI Search in Firefox: On desktop computers, Firefox now features Perplexity, an AI-powered answer engine built into the browser. Perplexity delivers direct, conversational answers to complex questions, helping you get quick summaries, accurate references, or creative inspiration without having to search multiple sources. It's available worldwide via the address bar using the unified search button.

• The following languages ​​are now available for translation: Azerbaijani, Bengali, and Icelandic.
