Firefox 143.0, 140.3 ESR and 115.28.0 ESR available

The updates include security updates and other improvements.

Mozilla has released a new monthly update for the three Firefox versions: Firefox 143.0, Firefox 140.3 ESR, and Firefox 115.28.0 ESR for Windows 7/8.1 and macOS 10.12-10.14.

The update will be available via the browser's update function on Tuesday. Security fixes have been made to all three versions. There are, of course, a number of other improvements and fixes in Firefox 143.0.

New in Firefox 143.0

  • On Windows, Firefox now supports running websites as web apps that can be pinned directly to the taskbar. These are websites that you can pin and run as simplified windows directly from the taskbar without losing access to your installed add-ons. This feature is not currently available for Firefox installations from the Microsoft Store.

  • Microsoft's Copilot can now be selected as a chatbot that can be used in the sidebar for quick access without leaving your main view.

  • When a website requests access to the camera, a preview can now be displayed in the permissions dialog. This is especially useful when switching between multiple cameras.

  • The Firefox address bar can now show you important dates and events. This feature supports displaying events (e.g., "Mother's Day") in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Italy regions.

  • Firefox has enhanced its fingerprinting protection by reporting constant values ​​for several additional attributes of users' computers.

  • When downloading a file in private browsing, Firefox now asks whether you want to keep the file or delete it after the session ends. You can customize this behavior in the settings.

  • Firefox now supports Windows UI Automation, which improves support for accessibility tools such as Windows Voice Control, Text Cursor Indicator, and Narrator.

  • Firefox now supports playback of xHE-AAC audio files on Windows 11 22H2+, macOS, and Android 9+.
