Google has regularly updated the Chrome web browser. The developers have plugged a security hole that was classified as high risk. Google updates the Chrome web browser and fixes a security vulnerability. The developers consider it a high risk. Based on this classification, it can be assumed that malicious actors can misuse them with manipulated websites to inject and execute malicious code.

High-risk vulnerability

The Chrome Releases Blog states that insufficient checking of data in the "Extensions" component can occur (CVE-2024-0333, no CVSS, Google risk rating "high"). It does not appear to be under attack in the wild yet, at least Google is not aware of it.

The bug-fixed versions are Google Chrome 20.0.6099.210 for Android, 120.0.6099.216 for Linux and Mac, and 120.0.6099.216/217 for Windows. The extended stable releases now stand at 120.0.6099.216 for Mac and 120.0.6099.217 for Windows.
