Brave has pushed out version 1.92.138 of its privacy-first browser, and while it's not a headline-grabbing release, it tidies up a handful of everyday annoyances.
What's New
- Chromium engine upgraded to 150.0.7871.101, bringing the latest under-the-hood security and performance fixes from the Chromium project.
- Fixed a bug where crypto transactions could get stuck in a pending state, a welcome fix for anyone using Brave Wallet.
- Fixed the download location not being remembered between sessions, so Brave will now correctly default to wherever you last saved a file.
- Brave Wallet improvements, including the ability to hide derived wallet accounts, a new toast notification after creating an account, refreshed "Create Account" and "Import Account" modal designs, native assets now prioritized at the top of the token selector, and a fix for transferring SPL Token-2022 tokens.
- Known Web Store MV2 extensions are now swapped for Brave-hosted equivalents, helping keep extensions working as Google phases out Manifest V2 support in Chrome.
- A fix for errors in the macOS PKG "postinstall" script (relevant mainly to Mac users, but part of the same release train).
Why It Matters
None of these are flashy new features, but the wallet fixes and the download-location bug are the kind of small papercuts that add up for daily users, good to have resolved.
