AnyBurn, the free CD/DVD/Blu-ray burning and disc-imaging utility for Windows, has moved to version 6.9. Like most AnyBurn point releases, it's a quiet update: minor bug fixes and general stability enhancements rather than headline features.

This follows version 6.8, which added support for creating bootable USB drives directly from zip, rar, and 7z archives — one of AnyBurn's more useful recent additions for anyone building recovery or installer drives without needing a separate extraction step first.
Why it matters
AnyBurn has built a following as a no-nonsense alternative to bloated disc-burning suites: it burns and creates CD/DVD/Blu-ray discs and image files, converts between image formats (ISO, BIN, IMG, DMG, and more), and can turn a USB drive into a bootable Windows installer.
