AIMP 5.40 Build 2727 Released: A Small but Useful Fix for VST Plugin Users

This update fixes an annoyance that will matter if you route AIMP's output through VST plugins.

AIMP, the free and lightweight Windows audio player known for its low resource usage and deep customization, has pushed out build 2727 of version 5.40. It's a small maintenance update, but it fixes an annoyance that will matter if you route AIMP's output through VST plugins.

What's New in AIMP 5.40 Build 2727

Sound engine fix for VST plugins. Previously, changing the sample rate in AIMP was ignored by some VST plugins, meaning your effects chain could keep processing audio at the wrong rate even after you adjusted the setting. That's now fixed, so sample-rate changes should propagate correctly to VST-based effects.

Updated WebLyrics plugin provider list. AIMP's built-in lyrics-fetching feature (WebLyrics) has had its list of lyric providers refreshed, which should improve hit rates for finding synced or plain-text lyrics for the tracks you're playing.

Crash-report fixes. AIMP's developers also resolved a number of issues identified from incoming crash reports, part of the app's ongoing stability maintenance between larger feature releases.

This build sits alongside AIMP's 6.00 Beta line, which remains in active development as a future major version — but for most users on the stable 5.x branch, build 2727 is a straightforward, low-risk update worth installing.
