Oracle delivers 508 security updates for over 130 products with the July 2023 Patch Day. The updates affect more than 130 of the company's products.

The quarterly Oracle patch day, called Critical Patch Update (CPU) by the company, brings security updates for a total of 508 vulnerabilities in numerous of the manufacturer's products in July. Oracle recommends IT professionals to apply the available updates as soon as possible to minimize the likelihood of successful attacks.

In the patch day overview, Oracle lists 132 products and product families as affected. Almost all product categories seem to have security leaks: databases, middleware, Java, business software, banking software, eHealth solutions or virtualizers. Many of the vulnerabilities can be used without authentication from the network.

Oracle reports critical vulnerabilities in Application Express, Communications Applications, Communications, Enterprise Manager, Financial Services Applications, Food and Beverage Applications, Fusion Middleware, Analytics, Hospitality Applications, Hyperion, JD Edwards, MySQL, Peoplesoft, Retail Applications, Siebel CRM, Supply Chain, and Utilities. Administrators with Oracle software from these families should download and install the available updates as quickly as possible.

The Oracle developers classify many other gaps in the numerous other product families as high or medium risk. Administrators should go through the listof affected products and check whether the products they use appear in it and apply the updates to them in a timely manner.
