New Chrome version 99.0.4844.51 available
The update fixes 28 security vulnerabilities in the browser.
David FischerGoogle released a new update for the Chrome browser. The update fixes a total of 28 security vulnerabilities in the desktop version. In addition, mobile users on iOS and Android can look forward to some improvements in stability and performance.
Google updated the Chrome browser to the latest version 99 (99.0.4844.51) on March 1. Eleven of the security vulnerabilities are classified as high and 15 as medium.
Google has not released details about the fixed vulnerabilities. This is to prevent attackers from exploiting them before the majority of users use the latest version in which the vulnerabilities have been fixed. Users are encouraged to update their browsers in order to remain on the safe side.
The Chrome versions for iOS and Android have also received an update to 99.0.4844.47 and 99.0.4844.48 with improvements in the stability and performance of the apps.
On Windows you can check the installed output by clicking on the three vertical dots in the top right and then on Help, About Google Chrome. This also triggers the update process, which actually runs automatically.
