Upcoming improvements

Firefox Translator: now supports more languages than ever before! Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean pages can now be translated and Russian is now available as a target language for translation.

Firefox now enforces certificate transparency, requiring web servers to provide sufficient proof that their certificates have been made public before they are trusted. This only affects servers using certificates issued by a CA in Mozilla's Root CA program.

In addition, the CRLite mechanism for checking certificate revocation is being phased in, significantly improving the performance of these checks.

Firefox now includes protections to prevent web pages from abusing the History API by generating excessive history entries that can make it difficult to navigate using the Back and Forward buttons because they clutter up the history. This intervention ensures that such entries, unless influenced by the user, are skipped when using the Back and Forward buttons.

Users on macOS and Linux now have the option to close only the current tab when using the Exit keyboard shortcut when multiple tabs are open in the window.

The revamped new tab layout, previously introduced in Firefox 134 for users in the United States, is now available in all countries where Stories are available. The logo has been repositioned to give priority to web search, shortcuts, and recommended stories at the top. The update also includes changes to the card UI for recommended stories, allowing users with larger screens to see up to four columns to better utilize space.

The "Copy without website tracking" menu item has been renamed to "Copy clean link" to clarify expectations for this feature. "Copy clean link" is a list-based approach to remove known tracking parameters from links. This option can now also be used for simple text links.

Linux binaries are now provided in the XZ format, which replaces the previous BZ2 format and allows for faster unpacking and smaller file sizes Improvements have been made to the translation function, reducing the chance that the modules will invent new, made-up words under certain circumstances.
