Attacks are already underway: Windows Update closes 141 security vulnerabilities

Microsoft is fixing a grand total of 141 security vulnerabilities on its July 2024 patch day, with five of them being critical.

On Patch Day Microsoft is gracing us with a delightful 141 updates for Windows and other software this July. Make sure to drop everything and update your systems immediately because, surprise surprise, the cyber attacks have already begun!

This month, Microsoft is closing five vulnerabilities classified as critical. These are not only in Windows, but also in Microsoft SharePoint. Two Windows problems that Microsoft is addressing this month are already being exploited by attackers, and two more are at least publicly known. 133 of the problems are assigned the level important, and three security vulnerabilities are marked as moderate.

It is advisable to run Windows Update in the next few days or to get the updates directly.

Installing the cumulative update packs also requires a Windows restart. Only then is the installation complete and you are fully protected.
